PEG-MGF – Research-Grade PEGylated Mechano Growth Factor Peptide
PEG-MGF is a polyethylene glycol–conjugated form of Mechano Growth Factor, the IGF-1Ec splice variant carrying a 24-amino-acid C-terminal E-domain extension. The covalently attached PEG moiety distinguishes PEG-MGF structurally from unmodified MGF and from systemic IGF-1, and in laboratory research settings it is utilized as a reference material for studying PEGylation effects on peptide half-life, comparative splice-variant stability models, and structure–activity relationships within the growth factor peptide class. Owing to its increased hydrodynamic radius and extended in-solution stability relative to the unmodified peptide, PEG-MGF exhibits physicochemical properties that allow researchers to examine conjugate integrity, clearance-model kinetics, and putative regulatory activity in vitro without reliance on full-length native growth factor proteins.
Its reproducible synthetic profile supports controlled use in mechanistic assays, side-by-side modified versus unmodified peptide comparisons, and exploratory biochemical research conducted under controlled laboratory conditions. This material is intended strictly for laboratory research use only and is not designed for human or veterinary application.
