IGF-1 DES(1,3) – Research-Grade Truncated IGF-1 Analog
IGF-1 DES(1,3) is a synthetic truncated analog of insulin-like growth factor 1 in which the first three N-terminal residues (Gly-Pro-Glu) are removed, yielding a 67-amino-acid variant. This N-terminal deletion markedly reduces binding affinity for IGF-binding proteins, separating IGF-1 DES(1,3) structurally and functionally from native IGF-1 and from extended analogs such as IGF-1 LR3, and in laboratory research settings it is utilized as a reference material for studying IGFBP interaction models, receptor-binding kinetics, and structure–activity relationships within the growth factor peptide class. Owing to its defined truncation and reduced carrier-protein association, IGF-1 DES(1,3) exhibits physicochemical properties that allow researchers to examine peptide stability, free-versus-bound fraction behavior, and putative regulatory activity in vitro without reliance on full-length native growth factor proteins.
Its reproducible synthetic profile supports controlled use in mechanistic assays, comparative analog studies against LR3 and wild-type sequences, and exploratory biochemical research conducted under controlled laboratory conditions. This material is intended strictly for laboratory research use only and is not designed for human or veterinary application.
